Cancelling a number and getting your money back

When you can cancel a number, what you get back, and why a number cannot be cancelled once its first code has arrived.

You can cancel a one-time number for as long as you are waiting for its first code. Cancelling releases the number and returns the full price to your balance.

How to cancel

  • In the app: open the number from Home or History, tap Cancel number and confirm with Yes, cancel.
  • On the website: open the number in your account and cancel it there.

The refund is booked at once and the number leaves your active numbers.

When you cannot cancel

  • After a code has arrived. From that moment the number counts as used. Use the code and tap Done, or let the timer run out.
  • Right after buying. Now and then a number cannot be released in its first moments. If you see "This number can't be cancelled yet", wait a minute and try again.

Do I have to cancel?

No. If no code arrives, the number expires after 20 minutes and is refunded automatically. Cancelling simply gets your money back sooner and frees one of your places: up to 10 numbers can wait for a code at the same time.

What you get back

Always the full price you paid, returned to your SmsGrab balance in US dollars. Refunds stay in your balance; they are not paid out anywhere else. Each refund is a separate entry in your Wallet with its own receipt. See Receipts and statements.
