Terms of Service

1. The service

SmsGrab lets you rent temporary virtual phone numbers, supplied by third-party providers, to receive SMS verification codes from other apps and websites. A one-time activation gives you a number for one service for a limited time, 20 minutes by default. Where available, a longer rental keeps a number for the period you choose.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter into a binding agreement. You may not use SmsGrab where doing so is against the law.

3. Your account

You can use SmsGrab as a guest or with an email account. A guest account lives only on the device that created it: if you sign out, delete the app or lose the device, the guest account and its balance cannot be recovered. Keep your password secret; you are responsible for everything done with your account. Tell us at once at support@smsgrab.com if you think someone else has access to it.

4. Acceptable use

You may use SmsGrab only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:

• commit or support fraud, identity theft, phishing, scams or money laundering;
• evade a ban, suspension, block or other restriction that a service has placed on you;
• create accounts in bulk, manipulate reviews or ratings, or abuse sign-up bonuses, promotions or referral programmes, whether ours or anyone else’s;
• send spam, or harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
• use a number for anything illegal, or to access accounts, data or systems that you are not authorised to access;
• break the terms of the service whose verification code you receive;
• resell or redistribute our numbers or codes, or access SmsGrab through bots, scrapers or other automated means instead of the official app;
• interfere with, overload or try to break the security of SmsGrab.

We may refuse a purchase, cancel an activation or suspend an account when we reasonably suspect such use, and we cooperate with the authorities where the law requires it.

5. How numbers work

• Numbers are temporary and are usually recycled: a number may have been used before, even for the same service, and will be given to other people after your rental ends.
• We cannot guarantee that a service will send a code or accept a virtual number. Whether a code arrives depends on the service, the country and the provider.
• Once an activation or rental has ended, you can no longer receive messages on that number. Do not use temporary numbers for accounts you may need to recover later, such as banking, government services or your main email account.
• Codes and messages are shown in the app and may also be sent as notifications. Keep them private.

6. Prices and balance

• The price of each number is shown before you buy it and is taken from your in-app balance when you buy. Prices are set in the app’s base currency (currently US dollars); amounts shown in other currencies are approximate conversions for display only.
• Prices depend on our providers and can change at any time. If the price changes between the moment you see it and your purchase, we may ask you to confirm again. A price change never affects a purchase that is already complete.
• Your balance, including starting, promotional and referral credit, has no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for money, except where the law requires otherwise.
• Promotional and referral credit is limited per person and per device, may expire, and may be removed if it was obtained through abuse or in breach of these terms.
• Any balance left in an account is lost when the account is deleted or closed for a breach of these terms.

7. Refunds

The price is returned to your in-app balance automatically when:

• no message arrives before the activation expires;
• you cancel the activation before any message has arrived;
• the purchase cannot be completed, for example because the provider has no free number or cannot sell at that moment. In that case you are either not charged at all or refunded in the same step.

Once a message has been delivered to your number, the activation counts as used and is not refunded, even if the code does not work for you. Refunds are made to your in-app balance. If you think a charge is wrong, write to support@smsgrab.com and we will review it. Nothing in these terms limits any refund rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

8. Availability

SmsGrab depends on third-party providers and on their stock of numbers. Some services and countries may be unavailable, and purchases may be paused for a while, for example when a provider has a problem; they resume by themselves once it is solved. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using SmsGrab and delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or close an account, or block a device, if you break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, or if the law requires it. Where appropriate, we will tell you why.

10. Third-party services and trademarks

SmsGrab is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the services whose codes you receive. Their names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify them. Those services have their own terms and may block virtual numbers or restrict accounts; we are not responsible for their decisions. The SmsGrab app, name and content belong to us, and you may use the app only as we offer it.

11. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, SmsGrab is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including any warranty that a particular number will work with a particular service.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, or for losses caused by third-party services, including a service refusing a number or restricting, suspending or closing your account there. Our total liability for any claim relating to SmsGrab is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using SmsGrab after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, you can stop using the service and delete your account.
