Buy your first number

Here is the whole process, from choosing a number to using the code.

Before you start

• An account. In the Android app you can start as a guest or sign in with your e-mail address. On the website you sign in with your e-mail and password, or with a code from the app.
• Balance. Numbers are paid from your SmsGrab balance. You can add credit with a promo code or earn it by inviting friends. Your balance and every movement are listed in the Wallet.

In the app

1. Open the Services tab.
2. Tap the country at the top and choose where the number should come from. You can search by name, ISO code or dial code.
3. Find the service, for example WhatsApp, and tap it.
4. Check the price and your balance, then tap Get number.
5. Tap Copy number and paste it into the service you are signing up for. Ask the service to send the code by SMS.
6. Wait on the activation screen or come back later. The code appears as soon as it arrives. With Auto-copy code turned on in Settings, it is copied for you.
7. Once you have used the code, tap Done.

On the website

1. Sign in and open Account > Get a number.
2. Choose the country and the service, check the price and confirm.
3. Copy the number, request the code in the other service and wait on the page. The code shows up live, without reloading.

If nothing arrives

You do not lose money on a number that never receives a code. While you are waiting for the first code you can tap Cancel number, and the full price goes straight back to your balance. If you simply wait, the number expires after 20 minutes and is refunded automatically. More tips are in What to do when the code does not arrive.
