What is SmsGrab?

SmsGrab gives you a temporary phone number for receiving SMS verification codes, so you can sign up for apps and websites without sharing your own number.

SmsGrab gives you a temporary phone number that receives SMS verification codes. Use it when an app or a website wants a phone number to confirm a sign-up and you would rather not hand out your personal one.

How it works

  1. Pick the service you want to verify, for example WhatsApp or Telegram, and the country the number should come from.
  2. SmsGrab shows the price and how many numbers are in stock. Confirm, and the price is taken from your balance.
  3. Enter the number in the other service and ask it to send the code by SMS.
  4. The code appears in SmsGrab as soon as it arrives, ready to copy.

Each one-time number is yours for 20 minutes. If no code arrives in that time, or you cancel before a code arrives, the full price goes back to your balance automatically. See Cancelling a number and getting your money back.

Where you can use it

SmsGrab works in the Android app and on smsgrab.com. Both use the same account, the same balance and the same numbers. See Using the app and the website together.

What it costs

Prices depend on the service and the country, and the exact price is always shown before you buy. You pay from your SmsGrab balance in US dollars; amounts shown in other currencies are estimates. The catalogue only lists offers that are in stock right now. Browse all services or all countries.

What it is not for

A temporary number goes to other people after you. Do not use it for accounts you may need to recover later, such as online banking, government services or your main e-mail account.
